Born in 1971 Maassluis, the Netherlands, Rody Coronel grew up listening to all kinds of music (Jarre, Vangelis, Queen, etc.). At elementary school he noticed that he could play and memorize music much easier then the other kids but at that time he was not really interested in music…yet.

That all changed when he was 14 years of age. With his old synthesizer, a Korg Poly Six, he imitated every tune he heard on the radio. One day he heard a classical piece played with synthesizers and a church organ. “Wow, that sounded so big, so huge. It was a piece by Widor, the Toccata from Symphony no. 5. It totally overwhelmed me.” He wanted to hear more and he started to listen to different classical organ pieces. Not long after that he decided to take organ lessons. A year later he got lessons on a church organ and started to study pieces from Widor, Franck, Bach, Reger, etc.

After seven years of organ lessons he had to stop because as he said: “at that time my science education, going out and getting drunk took up most of my time and my money, I sold my instruments”

A couple of years later, when he was graduated and working his day job, he played with some synths at a friend’s house. He started to get into the groove again and decided to buy some new music equipment. He made songs and put them on the internet (mp3.com) for everybody to hear. The response was overwhelming and after a year he was making money off it.

With 2,5 million listens to his music was getting world wide known and he started to get offers for different releases. He released his music on several compilation CDs by Water Music Records, two educational NASA DVDs and a full downtempo album 'Mixed Feelings' on DZOS Records

Currently Rody is working on another vinyl release and on his second full album packed with melodic trance tracks (incl. strings in trance). Check http://www.rodycoronel.com for the latest news.

After fronting several bands in the city of Tallahassee, he began DJing for a radio station in Tallahassee known as X101.5. He had always had an interest in dance music...even as a child. However, he had no idea how to get involved in producing dance music. In 1999, he began DJing at various nightclubs (The Grove, Club Park Avenue, Yianni's, Floyd's, Upstairs, Fusion, etc.) and house parties in the Tallahassee area. Mainly influenced by the melodic sounds of Ferry Corsten, Gouryella, Armin, Rank 1, etc., he decided it was time to look into producing his own dance music. He was determined to combine the classical music that he had appreciated growing up with modern trance/dance.

DJ Light began producing in the summer of 2000. After producing for only 10 months, he had landed his first record deal with Nebulous Records (home of Plummet - "Damaged"). It was a song titled "Desire" and was available worldwide. Shortly after, he signed another song..."Dream”, to Water Music Records to be included on a compilation CD called "More Ethereal Melodic Trance" with artists such as ATB, Faithless, Sash, Midway, Minister, and more!

Then DJ Light was asked by Paragon Records to remix Naimee Coleman's cover of The Cure's "Love Song". He also has remixed a new song for DJ Viro(941 Elektro, Moonshine Records, NuLogic Records). The song will be released on NuLogic Records in July/August of 2003.

In just over a year, his songs were downloaded over 1/4 million times on the net!

Currently, he is DJing at various clubs around the country, producing uplifting anthem trance, working on releases with several different record labels, and doing remixes.

Excellent, excellent dance song!!! I really enjoyed listening to this song. The build-up at the beginning was excellent and once you got to the top it didn't just bring you down. In fact it brought you up even further, if that's possible. Excellent beat, terrific production. I think this is one of the most original sounding dance songs I've heard in a long time. And that's a difficult thing to say about dance music because they've done pretty much all there is to do with dance music by now. Missy - Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Truly Awesome. Car stereo here I come. I am very picky over my dance music and I must say I can not find any fault over this. I love it. I would for sure cruise around listening to this. This song is amazing. Regina, Saskatchewan

Sustained, diminished & augmented Excellent! The whole intro builds very well and succeeds in creating a vivid atmosphere which is engagingly sustained, diminished & augmented through the duration of the song. A very creative piece. DystopiaRecords

Hello Minister... I'm listening to your Strings in Trance, the new track, and I just wanted to tell you tht I absoloughtly love it. It's one of the best tracks i've ever heard. I just wanted to congratulate you, I couldn't hold myself back.
A music fan - Kasey

Ya Hit the G-Spot With This One! very uplifting and feel good music. It's more of a beat you would play in car cruising rather than in a club, only because of that little interlude (kind of pausing the beat)..but then again, it's definitely great club music too! Tigress

Nice work on "Strings in Trance." This is true trance. Reminds me of the groundbreaking style prevalent in Sunbeam and Kosmonova productions. Aquarius

strings strings strings....VET cool ,..vette super track... ik heb hem op mijn station geknald... Ronny-B- besquarerecords

Magnificent . . . brings tears to my eyes . . . inspiring . . . movie scores.

This is awesome. You have the gift my friend. I can only hope to put out something half as smooth. Keep it up.

WOW and I do MEAN "WOW"!!! This is the Most Awesome I have heard as of late! Keep up the Most astoundingly Great Work!!! Regards,

Hi! I have listened to your track "Strings in Trance". I really believed like "I must have them to play in trance parties in Japan!!" I could feel my little brain creating up a very beautiful story.I haven't known that melodic trance are working in that way to me. I myself have loved "Goa Trance" musics for it's spiritual aspect and was listening to lots of melodic trance (another way to say "Epic trance, right?), but haven't found to meet my taste. Your musics hit my brain directly and fascinated me. I will be watching your composing activity for ever. Thank you! Akira Takagi, Trance DJ in Tokyo,Japan

One word describes your work. Awesome!
Your style combines two of what are the most appealing to me at the time. You obviously have a great concept of all the good stuff: melody, texture, harmony, etc.... Hard to find in the trance genre where everything seems to be made out of a cookie cutter. Chad A

I'll be sure to tell everybody about your music. It's really intillectual. It makes me feel really mellow, and gives me enjoyable thoughts. Not like other groups that seem to be writing stuff just to write it. I just can't describe the feeling, man.

Utterly AMAZING, took just 10 seconds of the first song to dazzle me, absolutely fantastic work! I'll be playing this in my car for years to come! Thanks!

OMG the song is just awesome!! Keep it up ! Luv always, Anya

Hallo Holland! Gigantische sound, man. Ikzelf ben al 8 jaar bezig, en ben als producer/remixer gekoppeld aan Universal Music in Hilversum en in Brussel. Your stuff has what it takes. Dirk a.k.a. Blue Adonis

Whassup Minister! I wanted to start off by telling you that I have never send comments to anyone about their music. So you are the very first to have intrigued me enough to have me spending time to send my personal opinion to an artist. It's truly amazing what you have created and your talents should be well rewarded. Just recently, Paul van Dyk performed here in the city I live in and it was the best mix of music (let alone trance music) I've heard in my entire life. I couldn't stop dancing even if I wanted to. After listening to some of your
creations, I sense some similarities in of your music and his. As of now, you can consider me part of your fan club and I will help support you anyway I can. A fan from Houston, TX, Ricky

Definately one of the top artists out there, also probably one of the most musically intelligent. Its wonderful how you can create stunning melodies which make your skin tingle, and at the same time you're not afraid to dish out the power which gets your blood pumpin like like your heart's going to burst through the top of your head. Keep up the great work man... can't get enough of it. -Jeremy Krentz

Your music is the best in trance because you poor everything in it so that it just takes the listener away for a little while. I love the melodic themes that take me to another dimension and the way the pulse keeps me awake...
